I have recently returned to the UK from a two week stay at this lovely hotel. It was my second visit this year and again met all my expectations. I had a superior sea view room (4013) which was big and spotless clean. On the negative side the TV in the room had over 100 channels with only one in English which was French News in English, this was disappointing but I had my laptop so I could log on via the excellent hotel wifi. The food in the Dinning Hall was wholesome with plenty of choice and seems to operate a 7 day menu rotation, some dishes are cooked to order at the buffet. The service in the lounge/bar was exemplary. The gardens and pool areas are very well kept, clean and tidy and at this time of the year are serviced from the main bar for drinks etc. The friendly animation team provide a selection of theamed entertainment each day and are always available to make sure the guests are have a great time. All the staff at the Hotel Reception are very efficient and went beond their remit to help and advise in every way possible. I have booked to return again in February for a 17 night stay so that probably indicates how much I enjoyed my solo holiday as an elderly person. I'm looking forward to seeing all the excellent staff who always have miles of smiles and make time to have a brief conversation. All the staff are a credit to Royal el Mansour. Thank you. Outstanding place! Right on a lovely beach, it is a stunning hotel with wonderful staff. From Reception, animation, cleaning and waiting staff we received friendly and professional service. Please just learn to say thankyou, and see how much they appreciate it. Rooms are HUGE and ours was rather luxurious. My special thanks to our waiter Hessine who went above and beyond, and the Head Waiter who looked after me whilst I was a little unwell, bringing plenty water and simple food to my room. Amazing

“What an amazing experience definately a 5 star experence in every way, highly recommended”

This was our first visit to tunisia, it exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff are so friendly the food was amazing the hotel has everything you need. Highly recommend this destination book up you won't regret it. We will be back next year.

A warning to everyone, don’t be taken in by 5 star reviews - the animation team here hound guests to leave good reviews, likely under pressure from management. I had one lady take my phone and log me into TripAdvisor to get me to leave a review, and then they take photos of the review you post to evidence it back to their team. I initially left a 5 star review just so I could be left in peace to enjoy my damn book. Now for the real review: I chose the all inclusive package with a wellness room for the spa discount (hammam and a 30 minute massage) for 7 nights. The hotel's not the newest as the photos imply. The pools were clean for instance, but the sun loungers look VERY tired and the gym should be avoided. We came for a relaxing family holiday to use the spa and enjoy the coast – the spa itself is also a bit dated, but I really enjoyed it overall. I did get hurried out at the end though after having 5 mins to sit on a sunbed with a tiny tea cup. We did a 2 day experience with hammam on one day and a seaweed wrap on the other. I liked it and got on well with the ladies who did the treatments, but there was one lady during the pedicure who was really exaggerating her reactions to my mum's feet. It just made me feel very uncomfortable. Like come on now.... that's not professional at all. Room service is a bit meh. The rooms are largely clean, but the mugs, glasses and coffee sachets were never changed during my stay and there was a plate of rotting fruit that no one removed until I personally put it in the bin. The hotel reception staff though are impeccable. They were so helpful with calling up the shuttle transfer company, advising on taxi prices outside of the resort, and giving directions. Food is okay. I appreciate the attempt at labelling as a vegetarian, but not everything is clearly labelled which dissuaded me from trying a lot of the local dishes - an unlabelled tagine I had on the first day turned out to have chicken in it when I saw it the next day, labelled, and in a new location. I am concerned how anyone with allergies would fare here. There's often 1 utensil for 3-4 trays that get moved around - there's just no way of avoiding cross contamination. I'm not a 100% on the cleanliness and quality, as I recognised leftover food from dinner service being served again the next day for breakfast and lunch. This wouldn't have bothered me much if they were kept in covered trays or under warming lights, but the food is literally left out under regular lights - you'll notice that if you don't get down for lunch/dinner service fast enough, food does get cold quickly. It's not a 5 star restaurant by any means, it's more of a 3/4 star with a lot of activities to do within the resort, and aside from the things mentioned above, the service here is great. All of the staff remember you by name and will say good morning/evening, check on you for drinks, and they definitely aren't stingy with the drinks either! Room service will probably give you preferential treatment if you tip; towards the last 4 days of my stay they didn't change my towels or the bedding at all, and they stopped doing the towel origami! Disappointing, but that's the culture here.
