“I love it here, but not for everyone”
I’ve been staying at the Barracuda since 2011, every couple years. It is not a resort or high-star rated hotel. It’s a very basic hotel - awesome location and a place to sleep for your dive trips. I’ve been staying at the Barracuda since 2011, every couple years. It is not a resort or high-star rated hotel. It’s a very basic hotel - awesome location and a place to sleep for your dive trips. Pros: •Affordable - clean but basic, good AC. •On the water, all rooms ocean-facing, great sunsets. •Most/all dive ops will pick you up from their pier. •Across the street from Mega, best place for groceries and general shopping on the island. •Short walk to downtown restaurants and shopping. We generally don’t need to take taxis anywhere. Cons: •It’s basic. Don’t expect a luxury resort. Just a home base for diving - where you will spend most of your time diving, eating elsewhere, shopping. Don’t stay here if you want the resort experience and lounging around all day. •During the day it caters to the cruise ship staff. So it’s not quiet. But they will all leave before 5, so it’s quiet in the evenings. Again, the suitability is based on your vacation/lifestyle choices.

“Better than Expected!”
I didn't have high expectations for this hotel. I chose it based on the price and the ability to catch my dive boat off the hotel dock. I really wanted to experience this old classic Cozumel divers hotel. Plus it was cheap and it was within easy walking distance to everything. I was not disappointe… lisää
I didn't have high expectations for this hotel. I chose it based on the price and the ability to catch my dive boat off the hotel dock. I really wanted to experience this old classic Cozumel divers hotel. Plus it was cheap and it was within easy walking distance to everything. I was not disappointed in anything. Its older but its clean. The pool is really nice and I enjoyed jumping in it when we returned from diving. The rinse tanks were also convenient. Pick up from the dock was exactly as I hoped. Our dive boat arrived every morning to wisk us away for our 2-tank morning dives. No worries about getting to the dive shop or the marina. No hauling gear! The rooms are pretty spacious. Decent bathroom with the best water pressure! The only thing that the room was lacking for me was a coffee maker. You cant get coffee from the bar early enough here. I suggest buying a coffee maker from the Mega and using it in the room. This is not a luxury hotel by any means but its a solid budget hotel if your standards aren't too high. I would stay again!

“Nice clean, basic hotel in town”
Nice waterfront hotel, easy to dive from. Snorkeling is ok, not the best out front. Hotel is clean and basic, ac worked great. Nice balconies. The no name bar and pool gets very busy about 11-4 everyday with cruise ship staff but good people watching but it quiets down at night. Great location, can… lisää

“Plus and minus”
We met a friend there that likes this place. The positives: Great location across from the Mega supermercado, near everything downtown, on the ocean, nice snorkeling from the cove in front (moray's and fish to see), dive shop on site, good pool/bar/sitting area. The positives: Great location across from the Mega supermercado, near everything downtown, on the ocean, nice snorkeling from the cove in front (moray's and fish to see), dive shop on site, good pool/bar/sitting area. Negatives: I had a 100% kill rate on the 4 cockroaches in the bathroom, a/c noisy, warped back door doesn't shut all the way, old furnishings. But what do you expect for something this price?
