Upon arrival we were greeted with a cool towel and drink. Our room No 701 & 702 was located on the ground floor in the hotel grounds. Lovely walk in shower/bathroom and good sized bedroom with doors out to a patio area. Fabulous bed - like sleeping on a cloud and choice of pillows. It did not seem that the extractor fan was working in the bathroom in either 701 or 702 and perhaps this should be checked. We did not have a phone in either of the rooms and the safe in 701 was not working. This was rectified and a bottle of champagne and a plate baklava was left as an apology! Everywhere was spotless! They were constantly cleaning. The ladies toilets in the hotel lobby section had an issue with the lights coming on when entering but not staying on long enough once you entered the toilet itself, so you were sitting in the dark! The restaurants were fantastic with a great choice of food whether breakfast, lunch or dinner and hot. The Seaside grill was outstanding! A special thanks to George the manager for looking after us so well. The bars also good and the frozen cocktails were sublime. Too many of them I have discovered after jumping on the scales upon coming home. Lol! The activity programme for the week was full on if you like exercise. We tried stretch and Aqua dance. Had good intentions but after the first 2 days became exceptionally lazy. The entertainment was mostly good. The group on Sunday 3 notes were very good. The singer read the room well. Not so keen on the group on Monday night .... so depressing. Not a good vibe for your holiday. She had a lovely voice but sang all the sad movie hits and did not up the tempo the whole night. Meanwhile a tribute to Il Divo was on at the theatre which again was really not dancing material. The bazouki player was fantastic and the folklore dancing very good too. Animation not so good - sorry guys. Gouvia village had a few traditional shops but mainly tourist tat. Don't bother with the Marina it's literally a boat yard! Nothing there. Corfu town fabulous. We took the boat option at 23 euros which you can book on the beach. Be warned in you're going in peak season to put something on your sun bed to say that you are actually there rather than leave towels. On our penultimate day we came back from breakfast to find a family had taken our place. The gym very minimal if you are a gym bunny. The pool areas were beautiful with nice comfortable sunbeds. All in all a fabulous holiday despite the few hiccups!

“Excellent holiday with only very very minor gripes”

4.5 stars, because room could have been cleaner, fan developed a fault and more waiting staff are needed. Having said that we had a brilliant time and preferred dreams to Eva palace wher we stayed 2 years ago. Very minor improvements would have made it perfect.

Well having paid more than we normally do for a holiday our expectations were high and unfortunately not met. Upon arrival we were given garden bungalow 331 which had a lovely view, the room was compact to say the least, but it was good for the two of us. I am unable to walk far so we hired an electric wheelchair for the week which was great, but again unfortunately due to concrete paths not meeting correctly it was very difficult to manoeuvre. The hotel like many these days is on the side of a hill, but we managed to find pathways albeit uncomfortably up to the main reception area and down to the beach/garden area. Our coffee machine didn’t work all week and re supply of mini bar was very hit and miss. The cleaning ladies were brilliant as were the waiters and genuinely we found the food to be the best we’ve ever had anywhere. Normally in a buffet we would be filling the plate up with chips, but here we didn’t have to all week. We booked the seaside grill twice and had nice meals each time although a limited menu was in place. In short not really for wheelchair users, and not in our opinion living up to 5 star rating. We shan’t return mainly as the price level is too high for the offering and we hope to find better value elsewhere.

“Not a scratch on Ikos….”

The positives… Stunning location (although planes do fly over from Corfu airport) Rooms were nice- we were in a sea view bungalow, compact but nice. Good linen and towels. The positives… Stunning location (although planes do fly over from Corfu airport) Rooms were nice- we were in a sea view bungalow, compact but nice. Good linen and towels. Some areas of the beach are peaceful and relaxed giving you options for quiet if required. WiFi throughout the hotel is good. The evening entertainment- last nights singer was very talented. The not so positives… Website description does not match the reality. The main buffet is open for breakfast, lunch and evening. Not a lot to say- it’s a buffet with most foods tasting the same, luke warm and overworked staff, being watched over by managers that just walk past the mountains of empty glasses and dirty tables. Only two other restaurants in the evening- the Greek and a sea food grill. No availability at the seafood grill for the whole week. The Greek was well staffed, limited menu but what we had was good. Staff were amazed that we wanted to buy a bottle of wine- definitely worth it as the one we had was great. Deserts- don’t bother…. Drinks. Beer was nice (crap glasses though !) Premium/branded spirits. Wine- only 2 options on white, red and rosè, none of them written down so you can’t see the details, grape variety etc. (In comparison to an Ikos - at time of booking was only about 10% more money- they had over 300 wines to chose from!) We asked for a sparkling rosè at the bar only to be told it wasn’t available at the bar, only if we are in the restaurant. The restaurant is 10 paces away and the bar processes all the drinks for the restaurant! After expressing our confusion at this to the F&B manager he eventually said he would sort it. Trying to get drinks on the beach- you might be lucky, certainly never asked by staff if you want anything, sadly saw a waiter on average 1 an hour. At breakfast we sat for over an hour with dirty plates on the table, walked past countless times by staff that didn’t clear them. Lunch- average at best. Half of the staff clearly don’t want to be there. I am baffled why places like this can’t have a bbq with fresh seafood and simple Chicken skewers/souvlaki, Greek salads etc. I would guess most people don’t want ‘fancy food,’ just simple food done well. After speaking with customer relations, very helpful and wanted to listen to our feedback, the problem they have is lack of staff, and lack of quality of staff- our response ’don’t take so many bookings then if you can not service the guests you have.’ I think if Dreams are trying to replicate a premium brand holiday (they are certainly charging premium prices! The management need to visit a competitor to see the standards they should be aiming for. They should also sit amongst the guests, see the hotel from a visitor’s perspective, engage with guests and make an effort to understand the basics. Do the simple things well and the rest will follow. In summary, not value for money and I will not be coming back here or to another Dreams resort.
