We wanted a well-located, well-priced air-conditioned Hotel room with kitchen and laundry type facilities. This Hotel surpassed our expectations in most aspects. Our room was really an apartment and so was substantially larger than the normal Hotel rooms in Italy, with adequate fridge, stove, washing machine and access to a washing line. The Hotel is centrally located and is only 10-15 minutes walk to the Central Train station and to the Main shopping mall and to convenient supermarkets and Fruit Markets, and even closer by car (and yes, it does have a car park). It is also easy to get to/from the airport by car or bus from this location. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. While we would have preferred WIFI in the room, they were flexible enough to allow us to directly connect our laptop to the internet, which was very handy for us. The room was cleaned daily with even the dishes being cleaned, which makes it better than a normal apartment. Whenever we asked for something they tried to help - even let us borrow scales to allow us to weigh our luggage in preparation for a plane flight. The only downside we could mention was that our reservation described this as "1 Double - Weekend deal - Breakfast Buffet" and there was certainly not any "Buffet Breakfast" it was a basic Italian breakfast where the coffee was not really Italian quality. But that was outweighed by the many positives.

We were lucky to find this place at extremely short notice and for us the biggest plus was that the room we had was actually more of an appartment than a hotel room. We were lucky to find this place at extremely short notice and for us the biggest plus was that the room we had was actually more of an appartment than a hotel room. So we could self-cater which is what we like to do at least some of the time. However, unlike the usual appartment, we also enjoyed daily room service; making up the bed and replacing towels etc. The young staff were friendly and helpful and there was a private open area for smokers. A minor inconvenience was that the hotel is a little out of the way being a 5 minute walk to the fringe of the town's central area but we didn't mind this at all. We both felt that Reggio Di Calabria is one of Italy's best kept secrets. Most of the tourists seemed to be Italian, hardly anyone spoke anty English. All in all a great ethnic Italian adventure!
