Wonderful stay in this mansion off the beaten track. Mario is a joyful host and looks after a beautiful property. We felt immediately relaxed upon arriving, particularly after a somewhat tedious road up the hill. But what a reward! The garden and pool are a haven of peace. Mario let us chose one of two rooms available, both of which were lovely. We stayed in « la papera » which is detached from the main farm-house and offered a nice view on the opposite hill. Very quiet stay. Breakfast was yummy. We didn’t stay for dinner but I’m sure this would have been a nice experience otherwise. A tip that we came to realise too late: Mario rents scooters himself, which are more affordable than what you will find in town. Save yourself the hassle of dealing with dishonest port dwellers and take him on his offer to pick you up by car instead. Truly a caring host, Mario also rang the owner of nearby restaurant « Umberto a mare » to make sure we would get a nice table when we told him we would spend our last dinner there. All in, a delightful experience that made our stay in Ischia ever so enjoyable

“Awesome stay!”

Awesome 2 night stay. We were looking for a place outside the busy center town. We wanted to stay in a place where we can just relax and enjoy the island. Awesome 2 night stay. We were looking for a place outside the busy center town. We wanted to stay in a place where we can just relax and enjoy the island. And glad we found this beautiful and quiet place. This place didn’t disappoint us, tranquility, relaxing and quiet. The food, breakfast, lunch/snack and dinner was very good and fresh. The room was spacious and the place itself with beautiful view and a pool was awesome. And mostly the owner, the family took good care of us, lovely people. Overall, I would certainly recommend this place as a great place to everyone whose seeking for quiet and comfortable place to stay in Ischia.

“Honeymoon Stay”

We stayed in Pera di Basso for 2 nights as part of our honeymoon. We loved staying here as it was very peaceful in the mountains and a great place to relax and unwind. We would highly recommend for anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax in the mountains. The views were amaz… lisää

We stayed in Pera di Basso for 2 nights as part of our honeymoon. We loved staying here as it was very peaceful in the mountains and a great place to relax and unwind. We would highly recommend for anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax in the mountains. The views were amazing and the room was very tidy and clean. We enjoyed dinner on site both nights, this was always very tasty and Italian. The wine was also lovely and local. Mario was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Even giving us a lift to the port on the day we left. We also loved his very cute dog Poppy. Would highly recommend staying here!!

Me and my partner booked this place for a two night stay in Ischia because we’d read about it on TA and seen some beautiful serene photos. It didn’t disappoint us! This place is an absolute gem. From the second we arrived I felt a calmness descend on me that remained for our whole stay. It is a gorgeous boutique hotel (24 guests max) in a beautifully kept garden, overlooking the sea. We ate homegrown food from the gardens lovingly prepared by Mario and his team on the sun terrace. The gardens are a perfect spot for meditation, or to just chill out and unwind. We were looking for a total chill out after some hectic times at home and wanted to just unplug from the grid and relax. I honestly don’t think we could have made any better choice. If that’s what you’re after, then you should definitely come here! If you want nightlife, shopping or to be walking distance from tons of bars then, er, this is the last place you should come! Rooms were rustic and charming. People on here who have been negative about it because there wasn’t a TV and the WiFi is patchy in places should get a life! (Sorry). I mean why come to the top of a secluded beautiful mountain with panoramic views to watch tv?! Our one and only slight thing... no air con, and it was kinda hot at night. There was an AC unit in the room but it wasn’t working. However overall, this place is a gorgeous, beautiful, serene and calm oasis and we couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Thanks Mario and co for a great stay and for looking after us :) x
