“beautiful location”

Another little gem in beautiful, unspoilt and friendly Galicia. we spent one night in Hotel Grand Proa in Raxo. Would have liked longer. Had a lovely time. Raxo is set in a small bay on the ria with 3 beaches right on your doorstep. Parking is close by in a free public carpark. The hotel is located on a quiet road directly opposite one of the beaches. Athough the outside of the hotel looks a wee bit tired from the outside, our room was quiet, clean, well equipped and very comfortable. There is a good, modern supermarket about 100 yards to the left of hotel. The receptionist who speaks v good English was very helpful. He printed off our board cards for free no probs and organised free bikes for us to use for 2 hours. The bikes were excellent. You are close to the main road into Pontevedra which is quite busy. However if you cycle about 1 km towards Pontevedra you will see a sign for Praia Longa. There is a lovely track at this beach which runs alongside the waters edge and it takes you into the next village. Very pleasant. Another bonus with this hotel is the fantastic terrace on the 5th floor (reached by the lift) where you can sit and look at the great view of the beach and the wonderful setset. There are about 10 eating places on the seafront. We ate in a little restaurant to the left of the hotel which had an menu on the wall in English. House salad, bread. potatas bravas and fried fish along with a lovely bottle of Albarino wine 22 euros for the two of us. Tasted sooo good. Couldn't beat it. Lovely this little place. So quaint and relaxed. One of our favourites on our lovely Galician trip. We will definitely be back.

“Amazing breakfast and comfortable room”
Without exaggeration the nicest hotel we've ever stayed in. Super service and super breakfast. Comfortable and clean rooms, helpful and friendly staff. Free Wi-Fi which is available even on the beach! Fantastic roof top terrace.

“Great hotel in a fabulous location”
It was our first time in Spain and particular in Galicia. We made the right choice to stay in this hotel which is located just on the beach. Rooms are very comfortable, nicely furnished with a lovely sea view - we can fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Everything really clean. Amazing breakfast… lisää

Rooms are very comfortable, nicely furnished with a lovely sea view - we can fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Everything really clean. Amazing breakfast is full of choices. Very attentive, friendly and helpful staff. We would definitely stay again.

“Very good small hotel”
This is a very good small hotel for relax, with a great breakfast. It is perfectly located for sight-seeing just on the beach in front of the estuary and perfect to visit Galicia for small trips, also the price is very reasonable. Svitlana.

We went for a long weekend taking advantage of a lastminute amazing deal. We had never been to northwestern Spain so we thought we would give it a go. Raxo is a lovely coastal town and the hotel Gran Proa is a charming hotel right in the middle of the hot spots. It is literally by the sea and we felt welcomed all the time. The view from the hotel is also amazing. Try to get a room at the top floor and you will wake up every morning to a wonderful view.
