“Impeccably clean, great service, & everything you could wish for in a small hotel”

Hostal Velilla is on the ground and first floor of a large, south facing apartment block, accessed through an archway of shade- providing climbers situated on the promenade bay of Almunecar. My daughter and I shared a quiet twin room for a week. The room and ensuite were spotlessly clean, with fresh towels daily. There was a TV a small fridge , & the room was cooled by a ceiling fan. The staff were friendly & helpful and other residents were either French or Spanish. Breakfast was served in the Foyer between 8.30 - 11.00am with a choice of coffee, orange juice and croissant or toasted bread with garlic, tomato paste & olive oil was a reasonably priced 3euros. The stony beach was just across the road , also clean and peaceful with mostly Spanish families. Amenties and good restaurants are plentiful and within easy walking distance . I'll go back !

“Pleasant and better than we expected”
We were doing a trip around Spain and just wanted somewhere to stay for two nights. We were doing a trip around Spain and just wanted somewhere to stay for two nights. It turned out to be a lovely little place, and I would certainly come back here if we were to go on a longer beach holiday. -The room was nice and clean, and the bathroom had an amazing shower which was probably the best one of our trip! From what we gathered they had redone the bathrooms recently. -Very friendly staff who were happy to accommodate our needs for breakfast, and for sorting out the free wi-fi on my phone (which was slow.. but nevertheless...). They spoke little English but this was not an issue for us. - Right on the beach, on the quieter end, but is in Velilla rather than central Almunecar so a bit out of the way of the centre. Plenty of lovely resteraunts around though, we would recommend the one directly opposite on the beach. If you're on a tight budget this is a lovely little place to come to. Don't be put off by the ugly high-rise facade.
