We recently stayed at The Ridge in the Lake Geneva area, and unfortunately, our experience did not meet our expectations. One of the primary reasons we choose a hotel is for a peaceful, restful sleep, but we were disrupted by hammering noise on two consecutive mornings—once at 9 AM and the following day at 8:30 AM. This constant disturbance was frustrating. The Ridge does have some redeeming qualities, such as its pool and onsite amenities. However, the pool’s early closure at dusk and the lack of private, enjoyable outdoor space were notable drawbacks. The so-called "lake view patio" was particularly disappointing. Instead of a scenic view, we found ourselves seated behind a large bush with no real view of the lake, and the lack of privacy made it less relaxing (ie., you’ll sit right next to your neighbor - see photo). While The Ridge might be a suitable option for business events or conferences, it falls short as a vacation getaway. With many resorts in the area offering better lake access and a more tranquil atmosphere, we’re unlikely to return.

“Good golf but weak stay at The Ridge”

I booked this for a father and son stay and play, golf , weekend. The golf was well run and the courses were in great shape... That said, The Ridge Hotel is not a hotel. It's a refurbished motel that is, for the price, absolutely subpar. Often managers respond to these reviews, which is o.k., but The Ridge ain't the Geneva National Resort, period. There's no dining ( muffins and coffee)... Our room, despite a call ahead, was lacking housekeeping, and the shower and tub got stuffed ... ( it was fixed though with no delay).. So expect an old motel like room that they've tried to upgrade, but perhaps one can do better for the price and the experience staying elsewhere and then booking golf here separately. it was funny that we had two coffee K cups and one cup... when we asked for a wake up call the young woman at the front desk said , "What's that?" If you charge first class, offer first class.

“Overpriced for someone not looking for a "resort"”

It was "fine". I stopped in here because it was on my route and I wanted something with trees and views. This place is meant for families and charges quite a bit extra for their resort fee. It was "fine". I stopped in here because it was on my route and I wanted something with trees and views. This place is meant for families and charges quite a bit extra for their resort fee. I paid it even though I wasn't planning to use any of it. The room SMELLED! Evidently I have an overly sensitive sense of smell because they had never had this particular complaint before. You know the smell of your grandpa's head after he hasn't shampooed his hair for a week or two? Greasy scalp? That smell is almost impossible to get out of pillowcases unless you soak them in dish soap and vinegar. Well anyway, the room smelled like that when I first walked in. I smelled a pillow and sure enough, that was the source. I asked for more pillows (there were FIVE which was nice) and the new pillows also smelled. Well, whatever - you can get used to it after a while. I opened the window for fresh air and was awakened at 7am by dozens of shotgun BLASTS outside!! I'm assuming it was duck hunting and not something more scary! But the noise was SO LOUD. I think this probably happens only certain times of year. There was also an issue with the restaurant, but just with their website (ordering) and phone system. The food was ok.
