Situated in the heart of UNC, depending the time of day and year, if you go walking, you may be walking with scads of college kids attending the U of NC. The Inn itself is a decently large hotel with a small feel. Well appointed, from the hallways to the rooms, the inn has a decidedly "old Southern" charm and feel. My King room was comfortable. In-room Nespresso, cable (no streaming though), and a safe. Lots of large, fluffy pillows and a good working a/c. There is an onsite restaurant, which I dined in twice but it felt understaffed and rushed both times. Despite amazing weather, they were not allowing anyone to sit out on the patio. There is a pantry with some cold sandwich and breakfast options. But, being a college town, your other, off-site dining options, particularly if you don't have a vehicle, are limited to typical fast food college fare. But, it's a very nice hotel, esp. if you are visiting the school.

“Still the best”
The best way to visit UNC Chapel Hill, this spot is the flagship hotel in Chapel Hill. They have really made it work seamlessly from reservations, check in, valet, housekeeping and room service. Very comfortable rooms, large bathrooms and nice on site food, coffee and convenience options.

“Overall, best place to stay in Chapel HIll”
Best customer service ever. Beautiful, historic hotel in the heart of UNC-Chapel Hill. I am an alum, at it was amazing to be back in Chapel Hill and stay in the lap of luxury! Food was amazing. Staff is excellent. Great location next to campus and easy walking to downtown.

“Beautiful but paper thin walls”
The hotel is beautiful, staff were pleasant and decor is tasteful. Beds are comfortable and rooms are updated. The only problem, which was mentioned in other reviews, is that the walls are not soundproof and paper thin. We literally heard people peeing in other rooms the whole night. I heard clear … lisää

The only problem, which was mentioned in other reviews, is that the walls are not soundproof and paper thin. We literally heard people peeing in other rooms the whole night. I heard clear conversations between a family in the next room for hours before they went to bed. Zero privacy and a hug problem for an expensive and beautiful hotel.
