Mall of America on tien toisella puolella ja sinne pääsee kävelykäytävää pitkin. Joten kaikki kuviteltavissa olevat aktiviteetit ovat lähellä. Huoneet hotellissa on ihan ok, altaita ei ehditty käydä kokeilemassa. Auton sai parkkiin ihan sisäänkäynnin viereen. Road trip -hotelliksi hyvä, helppo sänn… lisää

“Good reliable place”

This is a former Best Western, just moving to the Wyndham family in September/October. Older building, pool in the middle, meeting rooms. Family friendly, clean. This is a former Best Western, just moving to the Wyndham family in September/October. Older building, pool in the middle, meeting rooms. Family friendly, clean. Stayed here many times, mostly good with a couple of "glitches" that were taken care of. They were flexible when we needed it, breakfast is a constant stream of guests and staff generally keeps up. Overall a solid place to stay.

“OK place if you're looking for somewhere to sleep”

I travelled here from Scotland with my 17 year old daughter. Things got off to a pretty bad start. A week or so earlier I had emailed the manager (Barb) in response to her email to me via Booking.com. I explained we were travelling from Scotland and asked whether I could arrange for the shuttle bus to pick us up on arrival. No response. We get to the airport and I try to phone the hotel (on the number provided by Barb in her email) and I get an automated message saying the number was not valid. Marvellous. We find a cab and the driver says 'are you sure you don't want to call them for their shuttle bus, as this ride will be $40?' I explain that I'd love to use their shuttle bus but can't. Driver tries calling hotel on the number I've got (in case my UK phone is the problem). Driver gets same automated message. $40 ride it is. Gets to the hotel and at check in I have to pay a refundable deposit. That's OK, as Barb's email had explained this. What was not OK though, was the fact that the hotel does not accept pre-paid Mastercard. As an international traveller a pre-paid Mastercard is the norm, and it was hugely inconvenient for it not to be accepted. It was accepted literally everywhere else we went during our stay in the US (as I would expect). I had to use my UK debit card to pay for the deposit, which was far from ideal, not least because I incurred charges for an international transaction. Poor. (I still haven't had my deposit refunded btw. Checked out on Sat and it is now Tue). Once deposit was paid, the young man on the desk gave us a map to find our room. It would have been easier finding Nemo. He told us the easiest way to the room was definitely via the stairs, but we had large cases. He couldn't explain how to get there without using the stairs and just pointed to the map. By this time I had been awake for about 26 hours and wasn't up for in depth map reading. An older man who had been chatting at the desk took pity on us and helped my daughter and I find our room (via the stairs). He carried our cases up for us. Props to him. The room was OK. A king size deluxe. Not sure what was particularly deluxe about it, but the bed was comfortable. Didn't have any natural light, as it faced onto the indoor pool. Was also a bit noisy as a result of facing onto said pool. Got up in the morning and went for breakfast. It was awful. Maybe it is because I was comparing it to (very basic) UK standards, but it was truly terrible. Cereal, eggs and bacon, bagels and yoghurt. The cereal choice was woeful. Bran flakes or some other offering covered in sugar. The eggs were disgusting and tasted powdered. The bacon was not anything I would recognise as such. It honestly resembled the freeze dried strips of meat we give to dogs here in the UK. Absolutely horrible. The only decent offering was the yoghurt - hard to get that wrong. Only went to breakfast on day 1. I'd sooner starve than subject myself to that. The pool was nice enough. The "spa" though was just a pool of hot water. No idea where the spa aspect was supposed to come in. More often than not it was closed, with a big yellow sign saying not to enter. The location of the hotel was good. A very easy walk to the Mall. That is the best thing about this hotel. Otherwise, it has very few facilities. The lady who checked us out was lovely. And CJ (aka Derrick) the shuttle bus driver was just brilliant. Huge props to him, he's a huge asset to you. Would I stay here again? Not sure. It wasn't terrible (breakfast aside) but it wasn't great. Far from it.
