“Lovely place”
Stayed here for a couple of nights before a flight from Chiang Mai. I think this is one of the best managed hotels we have stayed at in Thailand. The rooms, facilities and the grounds are immaculate. Stayed here for a couple of nights before a flight from Chiang Mai. I think this is one of the best managed hotels we have stayed at in Thailand. The rooms, facilities and the grounds are immaculate. Staff are attentive but not in your face. The rooms are a good size with comfortable beds, a decent bathroom, good shower, hot water, TV, fridge and comfortable balcony furniture. There are a few pools, all really nice and clean. Breakfast is a really good buffet with just about anything you could want. The rooms are set around a number of lovely small lakes/ponds. The grounds are fantastic. Perfectly manicured botanical gardens with beautifully sculptured bushes and an array of Flora from all around the world. There is a nice and interesting small museum consisting of a replica village and showing the local way of living. There is also a small Zoo for those that like seeing animals and birds in cages. Not my thing but it's there.

“Family stay for a conference.”
Unbelievable resort with expansive beautiful grounds, gardens, swimming pools, playgrounds and even a zoo. The kids enjoyed the labyrinth as much as anything. The food and service was excellent. The breakfast buffet was also expansive, with made to order omelets.

“Fantastic, massive, peaceful, kid-friendly”
Really really loved our stay at Horizon! The minute we pulled into the resort we felt at peace. So much space, so much to see, so much to do. Really really loved our stay at Horizon! The minute we pulled into the resort we felt at peace. So much space, so much to see, so much to do. We loved stepping outside of our room and being able to go on long walks or bikerides, kids loved the playgrounds and animals. We loved the three swimming pools, particularly the two with a slide. First three night we spent in a deluxe room I think, which was spacious and great. Then we moved to a standard room which was also very nice, but a bit smaller. Breakfast was good, lots of options. Staff always very friendly. Only downside is that we think the food at the restaurant is just about average. Not bad, but also not very good. But there are a bunch of excellent restaurants within a 10 minute drive (Bucoliq, Chill House, Locanda…) or you can order Grab. City of Chiang Mai is about a 15 minute drive away, easy drive, just staright down the road. It was the perfect retreat for us, we never were bored and the kids LOVED it.

“Disappointing in many ways as a resort”
There were so many disappointments at the Horizon Village I am not sure where to begin. However the gardens are spectacular and at pools nice - but one does not sleep in the gardens! There were so many disappointments at the Horizon Village I am not sure where to begin. However the gardens are spectacular and at pools nice - but one does not sleep in the gardens! There was a comment card in the room directed to the GM of the resort that I filled out with my phone number and email and received no reply after 2 weeks - so typical of Thai managed resorts. Issues: 1. No black out curtains 2. The road outside the room is very noisy with motorcycles and trucks using it - all staff should be using non-motorized vehicles. 3. The air conditioners are old style, not inverter type so noisy with the compressors attached directly to the wall with no rubber in between so the wall vibrates. 4. I do not think the filters in the air conditioner were ever cleaned - they were full of dust and disgusting - I cleaned them. 5. The restaurant was very disappointing with no vegetarian food - even the stir-fried veggies are cooked in oyster sauce, and they were not willing to change this. I have attached a copy of the menu showing the supposed vegetarian food and one can see that it tall contains one form of meat or seafood. The staff in the restaurant kept opening the doors and letting mosquitos in.
