My AAA travel agent recommended this hotel. I was concerned it would be noisy but I requested an interior room facing the courtyard and it was just fine. My AAA travel agent recommended this hotel. I was concerned it would be noisy but I requested an interior room facing the courtyard and it was just fine. Everything worked well, and though the room was small, it had everything we needed. The bathroom felt luxurious and the staff were very helpful. The breakfast options were excellent and the hotel is easy walking distance from a variety of eateries. It's also walking distance from the train station, which was important to us. We walked to the lake and back and enjoyed our time in Zurich. As a swimmer perhaps my biggest delight was being able to walk from the hotel to a local public pool that is 50 meters in length! That's a real luxury :)

It looked like a very new hotel. The room was modern, nicely furnished and had everything we needed. It had a kettle, which is not commonly found in Swiss hotels. It looked like a very new hotel. The room was modern, nicely furnished and had everything we needed. It had a kettle, which is not commonly found in Swiss hotels. The service at the front desk was decent. Breakfast was also decent, with its wait staff trying their best despite its earlier-than-usual opening - breakfast starts from 6.30am. The hotel is around a 10-15 minutes leisurely walk from Zurich HB station. It is located near the shopping street, opposite the Jelmoli department store, but it is not noisy. There is also a supermarket just downstairs. Its rooms are well-insulated. It was my last stop before departing Switzerland and I had a peaceful, nice stay at Hotel Seidenhof.

However, some issues deserve further attention: i) there is only one coffe machine in a narrow corner of the room, which is celarly not enough; ii) the coffee machine is almost in the same place as bread, wich is then a very crowded area; iii) there is basically no pastry at breakfast; iv) there is no writen or posted information regarding the breakfast hours (for wich several members of the staff gave us contradictory information); v) room service did provide new bottles of water every day; vi) no one provided information about possible gym facillites at Holmes Place.

“Disappointing compared to what it should be!”

The more I stay the more I notice about minor issues. Simply too many. Rooms are beginning to be a bit dated but are better than others at some competitors, the size simply isn’t enough. The more I stay the more I notice about minor issues. Simply too many. Rooms are beginning to be a bit dated but are better than others at some competitors, the size simply isn’t enough. The food doesn’t seem to change with the restaurant simply not catering to those who don’t want a 5 star meal. The bar is small and noisy and the rooms at the front into the main road hear noise from the streets all night long followed by deliveries at 545am! Disappointing
