“Good hotel in an historic village”

We enjoyed a night in this Pousada. The room was comfortable. Although we had to pass through a couple narrow streets, getting there really was not hard. We enjoyed a night in this Pousada. The room was comfortable. Although we had to pass through a couple narrow streets, getting there really was not hard. Our GPS helped us find the Pousada without difficulty. The Pousada is on a high hilltop. Parking was easy. Service at the Pousada was very good. Ourém, itself, is beautiful and fascinating. A walk around the historic hilltop area, of which some is being reconstructed, takes only 15 minutes plus however much time one might take to enjoy the beautiful, generally pastoral, views below and the buildings in the historic enclave.

We spent one night here while touring Portugal for two weeks by car, as a family of 4 (two teen boys). We stayed in a mix of guesthouses, Air BnB, and pousadas. We splurge on a nice full service hotel from time-to-time on a trip; pousadas are no doubt expensive (particularly as a family that needs separate beds for the kids - we got two adjacent but separate rooms) so make your own value decision here. We had a very good breakfast (included) and also a great dinner cooked at the table involving a bit of flames and drama which was fun. Service was very friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable, not brand new but no real issues. Some here have complained about the drive up, but we managed it, yes it is steep narrow but this is what you encounter often in Europe - you have adapt & be on your toes. It happened to be national visit-an-historic-site day, so as we sat at the cafe on the main square opposite the church, we saw all manner of old Fiat Pandas, etc. filled with family showing up with no problem. There is free parking throughout the village. The village is lovely with a large castle site to roam around at the top.

Pros: bed is as good as all pousadas’ (big and comfortable), restaurant is small but very good, beautiful view, nice building and amazing location. “Nice building in the old town”

The building is nice and in a very quite area. Rooms are clean. Breakfast is ok if you don't hesitate to order what you want (omelette, any sort of eggs....) which is not at the buffet. Not happy to see that restaurant was closed in August..,, quite strange for a touristic place. Service is as mini… lisää

Not happy to see that restaurant was closed in August..,, quite strange for a touristic place. Service is as minimum. The pool area is nice with a nice view but swimming pool not heated.

Nice charming place. Rooms are comfortable enough. The restaurant is ok, the food was very salty. Service was good and friendly. When asked about sites around the area we were told to look on Google :(. Not much to see in Ourem so it is a good place for seeing nearby sites, but road in and out is n… lisää

TV in the room is terrible, very small with limited channels.
