“Nice place”
The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel's pool was a welcome treat for a late afternoon dip. Our room was well kept and had a view of the church next door. Its bells rang at 6:30, which was fine with us. We were already awake and enjoyed hearing them. If you're not an early riser, it might… lisää

Its bells rang at 6:30, which was fine with us. We were already awake and enjoyed hearing them. If you're not an early riser, it might be best to ask for a room on the other side of the hotel.

“Ok for one night”
We only booked a night in Villahermosa because our flight arrived late and we wanted to visit Palenque the next day. This hotel was just fine for one night, it was easy to find and close to the bus station. We could have a late check-in and we had a very good sleep. Also, we had a little problem wi… lisää
We only booked a night in Villahermosa because our flight arrived late and we wanted to visit Palenque the next day. This hotel was just fine for one night, it was easy to find and close to the bus station. We could have a late check-in and we had a very good sleep. Also, we had a little problem with Expedia (instead of a date change, they sent a cancellation to the hotel!), but they still managed to accommodate us.

“Friendly staff, ok hotel overall”
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The front desk is resourceful - they use Google Translate if you don't speak Spanish. I've never seen a hotel front desk do that! The first room they showed us felt cramped and dark so we asked for another one and th… lisää
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The front desk is resourceful - they use Google Translate if you don't speak Spanish. I've never seen a hotel front desk do that! The first room they showed us felt cramped and dark so we asked for another one and they moved us to the room facing the front of the hotel with windows overlooking the front entrance, which was much better. The neighbourhood is safe and it's about a 15min uBer from the ADO station. The continental breakfast that is included could use some work.

“Good hotel if you have to stay in Villahermosa”
We stayed in Villahermosa for one day on our way from Campeche to San Cristobal. Our travel agency recommended a home stay in Villahermosa, but since we are not the home stay kind of people we opted for a hotel. Plaza Independencia is a good hotel. All the basics are there. We stayed in Villahermosa for one day on our way from Campeche to San Cristobal. Our travel agency recommended a home stay in Villahermosa, but since we are not the home stay kind of people we opted for a hotel. Plaza Independencia is a good hotel. All the basics are there. The bed is good, the shower is okay (though we had only lukewarm water), a nice balcony, wifi, parking and a very friendly staff made everything complete. We experienced the city of Villahermosa however as a city in decline. Lots of restaurants that were listed in Tripadvisor were closed and traffic was a problem. The fact that it was raining didn't add to the experience either. We had a problem finding a nice restaurant. The breakfast buffet in the hotel was mediocre and can best be avoided. If you have to stay in Villahermosa Plaza Independencia however is a good choice.
