I got married here in mid December in a small 16 person wedding and have only positive things to say about the whole experience. Organisation was very relaxed with supportive and enthusiastic support from the Lord Crewe provided wedding planning team (Megan and Chloe). We had most involvement with Chloe who impressed us with her initiative, communication and care for the wedding but both her and Megan were brilliant throughout the preparation (which seems an exaggerated term as they made everything extremely easy!) The hotel it self was magnificent, facilitating space for large group meals on Friday in amongst the rest of the hotel guests and then the separate wedding event in the gatehouse on Saturday. Food was like nothing I have ever experienced at a wedding before in both quality and quantity, despite costing no more than more conventional wedding menus. We were given great flexibility in menu choices and the online options were adapted to fit a predominantly pescetarian menu - thank you. Restaurant, hotel and bar staff were all friendly, attentive and patient in managing wedding guests. The rooms and the inn itself are magnificent but the pictures already describe that well. I'm sorry for how long it's taken to write this review, but the staff at the Lord Crewe (especially Chloe and Megan) deserve great credit for enabling a perfect wedding weekend without any stress and a brilliant time had by all guests. For a small wedding it created a special setting and provided great value for what it was able to provide. Thank you all!

“A couple of nights R and R, on our way home from a cottage holiday near Corbridge”

A beautiful quirky place to stay, steeped in history. Staff very friendly, welcoming and professional. Our dog was treated like royalty! Food was excellent and had a nice twist to it. Betty, our staffie certainly enjoyed her freshly cooked sausage at breakfast time!

We recently had a few days away staying at The Crewe having booked for dinner bed and breakfast. The team were friendly and accommodating. Rooms were comfortable and very clean with nice touches such as fresh cookies daily which were appreciated. A couple of builds though … the bed was very firm... lisää

We recently had a few days away staying at The Crewe having booked for dinner bed and breakfast. The team were friendly and accommodating. Rooms were comfortable and very clean with nice touches such as fresh cookies daily which were appreciated. A couple of builds though … the bed was very firm and therefore uncomfortable although bedding and pillows were perfect. Breakfast was a little underwhelming with the buffet not being replenished regularly and it feeling a little awkward to ask for more fruit or the juices to be refilled Overall though a lovely stay.

Came for dinner with my husband and daughter for our birthdays. First of all the location is stunning and the building is fascinating with a wonderful history. My husband was delighted that the hotel had a dark ale. The staff were very friendly. Dinner was tasty, but we noticed that the entrée portions were small. Not wanting to leave hungry, we ordered the cheeseboard. The most expensive cheese I have ever encountered in my life! 13 pounds for two thin slices of cheese and a few gluten-free crackers with onion chutney. I think the Lord crew could do better in this respect. Otherwise, very nice.
