Caught a bus from Narita airport for yen2300 one way. Very simple to do even with no Japanese. Buy a ticket in the terminal. Bus stops almost outside of this hotel. You can see it from the bus stop. Caught a bus from Narita airport for yen2300 one way. Very simple to do even with no Japanese. Buy a ticket in the terminal. Bus stops almost outside of this hotel. You can see it from the bus stop. Reception is on the first floor. Hotel is good value, clean and comfortable. Bathroom has all toiletries included which I think is pretty standard for Japan. I did not take breakfast at the hotel but used the convenience stores nearby for cereal, joghurt and coffee. It's about 70 metres walk from the hotel. Shopping complex is lie rally on the doorstep. We would stay again.

The main building and the annex one are connected by pedestrian deck at the station. Old rooms, and new rooms partially renovated for the G7 conference, are mixed on the same floor. In addition, smoking and non-smoking rooms are mixed on the same floor, so smell of the smoke in the corridor is unpleasant. Newly renovated room, a junior suite, that we stayed, was very comfortable. The room was large, with two big screen TVs, and the bath was very comfortable with a washing area. The restaurant also has Western, Chinese and Japanese food, all of which are very delicious.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Location is convenient as it's located 5min from the bus/train terminus with access to food and shops nearby. What I like about this hotel, besides the location are the following: 1. Size of room is larger than most hotels in Japan. 2. Full set of toiletries (toothbrush, hair brush, shower cap, cotton buds, shaver and even bath salts). 3. Bed n pillows were comfortable (2 extra pillows available in the room). 4. Room was very clean and well maintained though fittings were dated. 5. Front office staff could speak English relatively well. What I didn't like are: 1. Insufficient lighting. Wife had problems doing her make up. The incandescent type lights (yellow) though comfortable to the eyes was not bright enough to lit the room for reading or work. 2. Fittings were dated. Still using manual water tap mixer (you have to turn on hot n cold water taps and get the right amount to get the right water temperature). There was a weighing scale...looks like from the 80s as it was bulky and was solar powered. The only modern fitting was the toilet bidet) 3. No in-room safe. 4. No cupboards. Only 6 hangars provided. Staying as a couple it means you have only 3 each. 5. No iron n ironing board in room. Have to borrow one from the reception. And carry both the small table top ironing board and the cordless steam iron to your room. 6. No bottled drinking water. Overall it was a pleasant stay. Tsukuba is not a major city so I don't think there are many choices for hotels. Considering this I would not mind staying here again
