“Great hotel close to Bregenz”

The Seehotel am Kaiserstrand is an excellent hotel right on the Bodensee (Lake Constance) next door to Bregenz. The hotel offers good service, an excellent restaurant for breakfast and dinner, albeit less attractive options for a simple lunch, perhaps its main negative point. Its bath house provides direct access to the lake and you can also use the sun beds on the front lawn and simply use the bath house every time you want to swim. Bregenz is easily reached by local train or by a very pleasant walk along the promenade lounging the lake. This makes the Kaiserstrwnd an excellent choice also if you have tickets for the Bregenzer Festspiele. The same local train - but taken in the opposite direction - will get you to Lindau in less than 10 minutes. We have been to the Kaiserstrand twice and will definitely return. There cannot be better choices at this end of the lake.

“Very poor value for money”
In brief, very expensive for a very basic performance. Breakfast is nice but nothing special and you cannot take it outside. And no views. Same for dinner. Service is efficient but ruthless from the reception to the restaurant staff. Room is just comfortable and trees block view of the lake. To access lake, you need to cross public path. All of this for 380 euros a night.

“A bit tired but good”
This hotel is a little bit lost between Lindau and Bregenz. It is quite old and looks tired. Could do with some refreshing. Our room was clean and adequate, but not quite to 4 our standard. The hotel is well located directly at the Bodensee shore. For the bathing season the hotel offers a own platform in the lake for sunbathing and swimming. The welcome at the check in was professional but not special. The room was modern and clean. In the bathroom you will find an amenity-set and mini bar is located in the living room. Up to here standard for a 4 Star hotel. During our stay the hotel seemed to be fully booked what probably was the reason for a totally overwhelmed staff, Service during breakfast took a long time and the restaurant was overcrowded. We found the same situation at the SPA facilities which were really to small for such a bunch of people so a relaxing time wasn't possible at all. Furthermore in my opinion parking fee of EUR 15 by day for a hotel located at small town is quite to expensive. All together and under consideration of the price it was a average experience and a second stay is hardly likely.

extremely slow service – no wonder, because there seemed to be only one waiter (albeit still professional and nice) who had to serve an amount of guests that required at least two or three waiters. A hotel like this (or any hotel, for that matter) should not save on personnel on the cost of quality – that way you‘ll only get annoyed customers and employees with a burnout. - does not seem like a five star hotel, surprisingly tasteless and loveless decoration. + amazing view and good cakes.
