“Unique and Fabulous”
I had a gorgeous room, everything is delightful, and decorated with a good taste. Michel and Cinzia are very nice people, and the breakfast is great. Everything is wonderful, and you have a feeling like you are home ! I can only recommend staying there , when visiting Florence

“A true hidden Gem!!”
1865 Residenza d'epoca, has been one of the highlights of our European holiday by far. My Wife and I stayed only two nights, but minutes after we arrived wished we could extend our stay even longer. 1865 Residenza d'epoca, has been one of the highlights of our European holiday by far. My Wife and I stayed only two nights, but minutes after we arrived wished we could extend our stay even longer. The facility is top notch, perfectly blending the historic culture of Firenzi (Florence), with the modern amenities that make for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was great, but most importantly is the welcoming feeling you get from the Michel and family. We really enjoyed the breakfast conversations with the other guests at the communal table. If you have the chance to stay here, take it, you will not be disappointed!

My partner and I stayed at this delightful guest house on our first trip to Florence and left feeling we'd found a home from home. We were welcomed by Mattias and walked through some recommendations for walks, sites, restaurants and wine bars that were tried and tested by the owners. Every place we tried from their list was fantastic! Our room was wonderfully comfortable, in fact I've never slept so well away from home. Breakfast in the stylish sitting area was delicious, and we had a great time chatting with the other guests. We really look forward to returning and will definitely stay here again.

“Exceptional accommodation and hospitality at historic luxury boutique residence in Florence”

My partner and I stayed at 1865 during our recent trip to Europe and it was a wonderful experience. We stayed in the Henry James room, so named for the connection of James with Florence, and enjoyed the use of a stylish sitting room available to all guests fitted with tea and coffee facilities, wonderful plush couches and chesterfields and a multitude of books. Breakfast was excellent with high quality local produce served and convivial conversation with our lovely host. Our beautiful room was large (more like a junior suite) and featured a spectacular painted frieze on the ceiling original to the historic building, and was decorated in soft cream tones that set off the frieze. Lustrous silk curtains divided the bedroom from an elegant bathroom with an enormous Victorian claw foot bathtub (and a shower in a separate room) and there was even a day bed to relax in and a huge walk-in closet to hide our suitcases. We will definitely be staying at 1865 on our next visit to Florence, and highly recommend the residence to anyone who appreciates high quality hospitality, stunning interior design, a unique literary narrative, and a quiet location.
