“Warm friendly place”

Very nice hotel friendly staff especially the staff member Jonathan the all trades he is a great bloke and he will go out of his way to help u if he can ,breakfast is basic with no mushrooms or Tom's bacon could be better in stead of streaky bacon very clean hotel ,quite at night times

Jono is building himself up to be the same level as Albena and takes the world on full on every day. With the guidance of Alex and Albena, I am sure he will become a fantastic manager in the very near future. As well as this, Jono would be a great asset under senior management to provide extra support within the business. During my time at Ty Magor, the breakfast team have been amazing help, always serving with a smile especially Vickie and Sondra! From serving breakfast, helping on the desk and even over Sawyers, Jodie proves that she is a jack of all trades. Although not seeing them as much, Tia and Anya always go the extra mile when it comes to all things service. Reminding me of the film ‘Cocktail’, Haseeb and Jo are a fantastic duo and always make time to speak to the guests and me. They always know what you want as a guest and the level of detail when it comes to cleaning standards is superb. The chefs, Agathe and Mark, are absolutely dynamic. As a regular, they know exactly what I want and how I like it. They are always willing to go the extra mile, even with certain requests such as asking if it is possible to make a Prawn Cocktail – which I do think should be on the menu! Working nights, I often see the nights team. Again, what a great job they do. Joanne and Steve in particular are always a sight for sore eyes in the early hours of the morning. Maintenance wise, I have seen James help the new team member, Dan settle in to the business with ease. They are both great members of the team and look forward to seeing how Dan can improve the property. Last but not least, the housekeeping are phenomenal. From Tom, Chelsea, Kirsty, Georgina, and ‘B’. I see them day in and day out putting in 110%.

“Can’t fault it”

Ideal hotel with everything you need at hand. The room was spacious, clean and well ventilated. Fan, iron, kettle and coffee etc in the room. Comfy bed, powerful shower, noise free room. Ideal hotel with everything you need at hand. The room was spacious, clean and well ventilated. Fan, iron, kettle and coffee etc in the room. Comfy bed, powerful shower, noise free room. The staff were nothing but helpful and accommodating with nothing being an issue. Location is not ideal if you’re looking for central but we had transport available which was fine and not far from where we needed to be. I would highly recommend to friends and family to stay here. Excellent value for money, really friendly staff. I stayed one night on the way to Cardiff so that I could do the nearby Rogiet Parkrun - the fact that checkout time is a civilised 11.00 am and breakfast at weekends runs until 10.30 am meant that I could run, get back, shower and breakfast in good time. A really nice touch is that there are two EV charging points (one slow, one "boost") for hotel guests. When I arrived the slow one was not working, and the boost one was occupied, however after discussing it with reception they seem to have found the owner of the other EV and it was unplugged and I was able to charge up overnight - a really helpful service. It wouldn't have been too much of an issue anyway as the hotel is right next to an Ionity charging station. The rooms are clean and reasonably well equipped, although a USB port or two would have been helpful as I had forgotten to pack a plug. Bed was comfortable and room was nice and cool. Breakfast was ok, not a bad choice, although as a vegan the hot breakfast was a little limited (no mushrooms or grilled tomatoes) and I only spotted after helping myself that vegetarian sausages were an item that could be requested. Ate at Sawyers in the evening, again staff really friendly and food was tasty. No oat / soya milk for the coffee, but I guess there's not too much demand for it. Reception / bar area layout is a little odd - all the sofas are on the same side of the room as the TVs that are high up on the wall making it almost impossible to watch (e.g. the football) without really cricking your neck. So, some minor possible improvements, but for the price, the hotel offers very good value.
