I first came across this wee gem in February when looking for somewhere to stay which was a wee bit different from your typical B&B and this place didn’t disappoint! As a music fan, I was drawn instantly to this place and the themed rooms which they have. I experienced the 60s themed room this stay (and the 80s room last time). Decor very much in line with said decade, all inclusive of a record player and records of said era. The hosts Gary and Jo are so welcoming and gave us lots of advice on where to go and what to do based on our interests. Rooms were very comfortable with fantastic wee lounge areas to chill out in. Breakfast was amazing and the breakfast area as well as the whole hotel is decked out in the most fantastic music/movies memorabilia. I can’t recommend this place highly enough! Very central and just a gem of a place. I will most definitely stay here now every time I return to Blackpool.

The stay at the Mercury was nothing but a pleasure from start to finish: — At first, Gary upgraded our room for free (fortunately for us, the hotel was not fully booked). — My husband collects vinyl records, so Gary advised us to visit Jim's vinyls (needless to say that Jim gave us a huge discount after mentioning that we are from Mercury). — We had a couple of bad experiences with bars and restaurants, so Gary recommended us a few places, which were top notch(!). — Special thank you to Jo, the breakfast was amazingly delicious! Thank you so much for being so kind, approachable and fun to be around, Gary! We had an amazing time in Blackpool thanks to you.

Having stayed at the Mercury last year, my expectations were high given the high standard I experienced. I was not disappointed in the slightest, as the standard all round was outstanding. From the quality of the breakfast, the comfortable high quality beds to the exceptional customer service of the owners Gary and Jo. A truly second to none experience and we are already planning our trip for next year.

“Excellent, vibrant hotel.”

Excellent facilities with so much to offer. The bar and communal area are great. Jo and Gary are fantastic hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast was fantastic, great local produce that tasted great and was cooked to your liking.
