“Not so grand!?”

The room was not cleaned during my stay . The dinner on the Sunday was cold. The only good thing was the young man in the restaurant who was very polite and helpful. The hotel is in a good location, such a shame that the cleanliness of the room let it down.

The hotel is very clean and the rooms were a decent size with all the amenities. Unfortunately that is where the good reviews end. There is a notice in the bedroom stating that there would be no service of the room for the first 3 days so if you needed more than 2 cups of coffee or tea each you had to ask reception, the towels were old and scratch and the shower gel etc were 1 each, not enough for 3 days by any means. We were at a function in the evening which was still being set up whilst we were there, the bar was a temporary thing with mixed sized glasses and a poor selection of wines and spirits at a high price. The food was OK, very generic and cheap to produce. On a high note again, the staff were great, very friendly and hardworking, one young lady was there when I left at 11.00 pm and back on shift at breakfast, still smiling. To summarise, the hotel is easy to get to and in a great position, clean and tidy and the staff are great. Britannia hotels are operating on a very tight gp and it shows in the small details
