“Perfect stay for a special celebration”

From beginning to end, everything was perfect. Every single member of staff who we had the pleasure of meeting could not have been any more helpful. We felt extremely well looked after and very welcome here. Tylney Hall is such a grand place inside and out with fabulous staff that take the time to make sure everything is perfect. Our stay was to mark a birthday and retirement. We were able to check-in early and had been upgraded to a suite which was a such a lovely gesture and surprise. The room was very spacious and quiet. All the little touches and requests to make our stay special had been met with no issues at all. It just all fell into place. I’d requested afternoon tea by the fire in the lounge which was all set out for us on arrival. The Lounge is stunning with fabulous decor (the ceiling is amazing) with a warm cosy atmosphere. It was quite busy but it didn’t feel loud at all. The sandwiches were refilled and the pot of tea lasted for many cups each which made the afternoon tea such great value. We had a walk around the extensive well maintained grounds to walk off some of the indulgence and my partner had a lovely relaxing back massage later in the afternoon. We had an aperitif in the Library Bar with complimentary nuts and olives before our evening meal. Dinner was served in the Oak Room with its big drapes and the piano playing which made a very relaxing atmosphere whilst eating dinner. We had an absolutely fantastic waiter who made sure my meal was cooked to my liking and had the right balance of attentiveness. I’d ordered a celebration cake ahead of our arrival and requested it to be brought out after our main course which again was all perfectly timed and the pianist who had been playing some very classic 80’s tunes, started playing ‘Happy Birthday’ as the cake was brought out. All of the other guests clapped too. Just amazing. The room was quiet overnight and didn’t hear any other noise from guests even though it did seem to be busy at breakfast. Breakfast was promptly served and nice and hot. All of our expectations were met and more. Thank you to everyone who made a special celebration perfect.

“Amazing Experience”

I just wanted to thank your staff for an absolutely wonderful weekend. I think it's important to tell people when they go above and beyond or maybe it's such a high standard that I'm not used to. We were greeted Saturday by a nice lady on reception and our room was upgraded. My girlfriend and I stayed in room 116 and that was the most beautiful room I've ever stayed in, in my life in a hotel. Beautiful rooms especially the bathroom. Well worth the four star rating and should be five in my opinion but I believe this was because you don't have a lift? I understand that if it's a listed building if it used to be a hospital during WWII and then a boys school? We had dinner in the Lounge and the Steak and chips were cooked to perfection, the best I've ever had! Our waiter was very courteous and helpful. Sunday my girlfriend and I had a fantastic English and continental breakfast delivered to our room. My girlfriend then had a fabulous massage by Della. Our checkout time was extended to midday complimentary. I picked my mum up from home in Tadley and brought her to the hotel which I was initially worried about but the wonderful Fabio greeted us and took us over to the health spar in the buggy where my mum and I had a really nice back massage by the delightful Della and all my worries disappeared. My Girlfriend had a lovely swim in the indoor pool. Fabio then picked us up again in the buggy and took us back to reception. We were then greeted and seated for an amazing afternoon high tea by Sasha and once again the food was such high quality and the service from Sasha was impeccable. We were bid a farewell as we left all with smiles of delight. An absolutely outstanding job your service staff do. I do hope they get recognised for the amazing work they do and with the new tipping legislation I do hope they get their fair share? I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone. Staff are so friendly it really does make all the difference. Apologies for missing any names out that took care of us or if I have misspelt anyone's name. Thankyou once again on behalf of my girlfriend and my mother I applaud you all for a 5-star service it really couldn't have been any better, a truly delightful memory for my mother! A family group, including my Canadian visitors, had the festive afternoon tea. Everyone was very impressed by the ambiance, quality of the food and the very friendly service. But, do beware that the advertised price on the website when you come to pay is increased by 12.5%. No mention is made of this when you book by phone and, furthermore, no mention is made when you pay that apparently this extra charge is discretionary. Although the tea was lovely, this hidden charge does rather leave a nasty taste. Just be aware !

“A few days in Basingstoke”
An amazing hall with great gardens to explore. I would recommend the restaurant for an evening meal, the food was perfectly presented and full of flavour. Our room was in the main hall and could not be faulted. Despite some minor issues I would not pass up the opportunity to stay there again.
