Second hotel of our trip in western Scotland, we were astonished by our arrival in the domain. First because when you enter the domain (24 hectares of park and wood), you see the ruins of the old Invergarry Castle, famous after the Culloden battle, Second because the hotel is a castle, exactly as what you have seen in movies or read in novels. Inside, same impression, you expect to meet a ghost in every room. Instead you meet very nice and welcoming owners. I have heard that the complete family (three generations) work at the castle. Do not hesitate to ask them for anything, they will always try to help you. We had a great and huge room with a view on a part of the park (I guess there are rooms with views on the loch). Everything was fine, large beds, nice bathroom, lot of space to put your clothes away. We had wonderful nights, without, unfortunately, being bothered by dead and toturous spirits. There is no bar but you can order all kinds of beverage and take advantage of one the wonderful living rooms with view on the lock. If the weather is fine, you cal also sit at the terrace. The dining room is in the same vein than the rest of the castle. The service is perfect and the staff will adapt to your mood and behavior. The food is very good. The Loch Ness is close from the hotel, do not hesitate to do a cruise there. Finally and not the least, we have found that the place offers excellent value for money (the best of the five hotels we did in two weeks). I definitively recommend the place, which seems to be full the three nights we were there with very multifaceted customers.

We stayed here on the second night of our Great Glen adventure and honestly I wasn't sure what to expect. But from the moment five damp and sweaty hikers stepped over the threshold we were made welcome in some of the most beautiful surroundings I've ever stayed in. The beds were comfortable, the food abundant and delicious, and the staff charming. I'd recommend it without hesitation.

This hotel must be one of the best hotels in the Highlands. It is family run and the hospitality and service is second to none. We stayed as group of eight for four nights and used the hotel as a base for days out touring the area. Our traditionally decorated bedrooms were clean, large, with modern bathrooms. Breakfast and dinner in the dining room overlooking the loch were superb. Breakfast is cooked to order and the dinner menu changed every night. One of our party had a birthday to celebrate and the hotel arranged champagne and canapés for us before dinner in one of the lounges. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Glengarry Castle to anyone who wants a flavour of excellent Scottish hospitality.

“Originally a country house - great place to stay.”

Great place with history and ambience. Our approach was a little spooky but once we reached the hotel, it was like a fairy book. A step back in time. Very nice grounds. Breakfast was good. Of the 13 places we stayed during out tip, Glengarry was in the top 3, the other 2 being B&Bs and more ... lisää
