“Loved it! Will 100% be returning ”

I wanted to add a review as reading previous reviews nearly put me and my husband of booking this hotel...well I’m so glad they didn’t and we bit the bullet and booked it anyway! We arrived at the hotel on Monday 4th of November at 9:45pm and was greeted by a lovely polite young man who promptly had our key ready, showed us a map of Amsterdam and asked if there was anything we needed! He couldn’t have been more helpful...he also told us about the free coffee/hot chocolate/ tea machine that’s is just behind the reception in the breakfast room was for id to use anytime we liked, there is a rotation of staff throughout the day/night as there is always someone there 24/7, whenever we have gone out and come back for our key for the room they had remembered us from the start and handed it us before we even had to say anything..always with a polite there you go Madame/sir and a smile! Our room is on the reception level (room 8) which worried me at first with people coming and going..but the noise has been fine and kept to a minimum (you expect to hear people coming and going it’s hotel after all) but nothing that disturbed us! We was told by the young man that if we wasn’t happy with where it was or the room itself he would move us the following day..we didn’t take him up on his offer as we was so pleasantly surprised, It’s a good size room with a king size bed, tv on the wall and ensuite bathroom...everything was spotless apart from the bottom sheet that had a spec and I mean a spec of blood on it..when we mentioned this to the reception it was promptly changed and he couldn’t apologise enough, it’s in such a good spot, situated perfectly with everything in walking distance..there’s a bar and coffeeshop (separate businesses) across the rd and a nice square round the corner with loads of bars and restaurants...it’s just perfect, we go home tomo and we are absolutely gutted, we have really enjoyed this hotel and will definitely be staying here next time we visit, for anyone thinking twice about using this hotel..book it! You won’t be disappointed and if you are!...your certainly expecting far too much and probably should be looking more towards the Hilton! We will be recommending this to anyone that’s wanting to visit Amsterdam and be in a prime location...thank you for an amazing stay Hotel de Paris..we will be back and requesting room 8 😊

“Average/poor”
Bed was super comfy but I am unsure if this was truly the case or whether we were just so tired after a day of exploring. Room was tatty, in need of a lick of paint and new accessories such as lamp shades. Wallpaper peeling from the wall in some cases. We encountered a very helpful member of staff … lisää

Room was tatty, in need of a lick of paint and new accessories such as lamp shades. Wallpaper peeling from the wall in some cases. We encountered a very helpful member of staff on the evening of our stay who told us that there a complimentary coffee machine, unsure why we were not told this by the guy who checked us in. Located next to Vondelpark. Plenty of public transport links to get you to the centre. We walked from central station, took approx 30 mins with a 5 yo in tow who was eating strawberries.

“Solid 3 stars”
Ideal location with a very friendly staff, which makes this a 3 star hotel. Our room was clean, though there were some questionable brown/red stains on the sheets, we just made sure to scoot away from those. Ideal location with a very friendly staff, which makes this a 3 star hotel. Our room was clean, though there were some questionable brown/red stains on the sheets, we just made sure to scoot away from those. Our room also reeked of cigarettes, but assuming this is a smoker friendly hotel so that was our fault for not checking first. The smell did eventually lighten up after a day of staying there. Price is justifiable because of the location.

“Just OK”
We stayed here on the last day of our 4 day trip in Amsterdam. Our first 3 days were spent at the "Botel" which was our budget hotel and it was great! Moved here for our last night as the botel was fully booked, this place was a bit more expensive, what a bad decision! The staff and rooms are great… lisää

Moved here for our last night as the botel was fully booked, this place was a bit more expensive, what a bad decision! The staff and rooms are great but this is the loudest hotel I've stayed in in my life (and I've stayed in some bad hotels!) Doors slamming, people shouting, hoovering the floor early in the morning. I wont stay again and if you want some sleep I suggest you don't either!
