“This American couple loved the Jan Luyken!”
What a lovely, quaint experience! My wife and I traveled here from Dec 17-21 (right before Christmas) and the stay couldn’t have been better. The highlights: the free lobby bar (breakfast, self-serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and charcuterie from 4-7pm), the friendly staff, the cozy loung… lisää
What a lovely, quaint experience! My wife and I traveled here from Dec 17-21 (right before Christmas) and the stay couldn’t have been better. The highlights: the free lobby bar (breakfast, self-serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and charcuterie from 4-7pm), the friendly staff, the cozy lounge (where I found myself with a scotch and a book each night), and the in-room kettle and fridge. The gym is small but sufficient: a treadmill and bike, as well as a set of dumbbells with a bench. We elected for a “small” room, which was big enough for two people for 4 nights. (Don’t let the name fool you.) Tram access is super easy and a block away: we were in the city center within 5 minutes and never waited for a train. We would highly recommend staying here if you’re in town for a few days!

“Amsterdam Tremendous Stay.”
Best place we stayed in Europe. Rooms were nice and there were many more amenities than we expected. Great breakfast. Snacks and drinks at any time. Umbrellas available for rainy days. Staff were young and professional. Common areas were comfortable and inviting.

“Can’t go wrong”
From the moment we walked in, soaked, and the staff went to get towels while checking us in we knew we had made a great choice. From the moment we walked in, soaked, and the staff went to get towels while checking us in we knew we had made a great choice. When we found out there was a help yourself policy at the bar with snacks and sweets on hand most of the day included in the cost it was clear we would be back too. Cosy snugs with books, games and sofas to enjoy a few drinks in the evening, a room with everything you could need… apart from perhaps a bit more storage, but for a weekend trip it was fine. Breakfast was excellent but not cooked food, but for continental it was perfect. Freshly squeezed orange juice, bread out of the oven and still warm when you cut through it and a coffee machine… what can go wrong…. and a glass of champagne from the bar for a sneaky Buck’s Fizz before exploring a wonderful city. Less than two minutes from the bus and tram stop and off you go. I’ve stayed in hotels around the world and apart from perhaps the universal hotels in Florida with the room key to skip the lines, Jan Luyken is one I will be very happy to come back to time and time again.

“Home from home in Amsterdam”
Excellent hotel, home from home. Great location, close to shops and restaurants. Would recommend the Seafood Bar. staff & atmosphere excellent. We had a small room, but great size. Breakfast very good. Very clean. It’s a Townhouse concept, so beers,wines, coffees etc are on a help yourself basis.

“My favorite hotel in Amsterdam )”
Great location, atmosphere, staff and food. Feel like at home. Free drinks (including wine) and snacks. Nice rooms. Old-fashion building with windows that can be opened. Very warm and cozy rooms. Gluten-free bread (but you have to ask about it)
