“Loved it!”

A gorgeous hotel, our room was beautiful. It’s an old building in Amsterdam so of course the stairs are steep but it just added to the character of the place. A gorgeous hotel, our room was beautiful. It’s an old building in Amsterdam so of course the stairs are steep but it just added to the character of the place. We really enjoyed our stay and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. We did feel quite judged by some of the other, American, guests who maybe thought we weren’t right for the hotel so we only did breakfast one morning - however it was excellent. We would come back here 100% if we ever come back to Amsterdam.

“Highly reccommended”

The 717 is in a prime location where everywhere we wanted to visit during our 5 days in Amsterdam was within 20 minutes walk. Room was excellent - very clean, well soundproofed despite facing on to the street and canal, large comfortable bed, good storage and space. Staff were friendly, attentive… lisää

The 717 is in a prime location where everywhere we wanted to visit during our 5 days in Amsterdam was within 20 minutes walk. Room was excellent - very clean, well soundproofed despite facing on to the street and canal, large comfortable bed, good storage and space. Staff were friendly, attentive and most helpful. Lounge and garden beautifully designed and breakfast was good - well presented range of organic local produce and the best coffee we tasted in Amsterdam. Price was same as another ‘luxury boutique’ hotel we stayed at last year, but the 717 service and consistent quality throughout were vastly superior. Thanks for a super stay.

“Quirky But Friendly Hotel”

The Welcome Upon arriving, we received a very warm and friendly welcome. Our room was not ready as we arrived early and we were escorted to the lower level living room, and restaurant for a welcome drink. Throughout our visit, we were engaged by very friendly staff who were consistent in their desire to extend warm hospitality. Not For the Mobility Challenged From the street, you climb exterior stairs to access the lobby level. There’s no elevator in the building, so whether you’re going to your room or to the restaurant, you will take steps, some very shallow and steep. Our room was on the street level which means upon arrival you climbed stairs to get to the lobby, descend stairs to get to the lower level, walked outside into a courtyard to enter another hallway, taking you to room 26. Well Appointed Room (Suite 26) Our suite was well appointed with upscale fabrics, wall coverings, art work and furnishings. The layout of the room was unique, which essentially had a sleeping area with a lounge area. The bathroom is good size with room for two people to get ready at the same time. The lights and shades are controlled from a central panel with remotes on either side of the bed and in the bathroom. The suite has one window that looks onto the lower lobby (can be used to exit the building, but not enter the building), which allows for natural light, but you need the sheer/shade always down to keep from others from seeing in.
