“Great stay at this lovely hotel”
We stayed for Valentines and the hotel - although having some renovation works - was lovely. Our room was spacious and comfortable, we had a deluxe double room and it was perfect. We stayed for Valentines and the hotel - although having some renovation works - was lovely. Our room was spacious and comfortable, we had a deluxe double room and it was perfect. We had room service and the food was really good - recommend the Pastrami sandwich! The location of the hotel is so perfect for exploring, youre surrounded by the shops and so many restaurants also some really good bars and clubs within walking distance. Close enough to the 'famous' parts of Dam without being too close ;) The staff here were wonderful - after a late night I managed to leave my phone in an Uber and Patrick and Pavlo at reception (hope ive got those names right) went above and beyond to get it back for me. They tracked down the driver and even met him to collect the phone while we went to bed (it was around 2am at this point!) the phone was waiting in reception for us the next morning - absolute superstars and so cool about it - Thank you! We will definitely stay at this hotel again when we come back to Amsterdam in the future.

“Great atmosphere!”
The Clayton Amsterdam is a fabulous hotel with excellent staff. The food is wonderful and the revenue management team are especially friendly. I will definitely be back here. Amsterdam itself is a great place to vacation with friends or with your family

“Amsterdam valentines stay”
Came to Clayton Amsterdam with my girlfriend and we had nothing short of an incredible stay! The hotel is stunning and has a beautiful water feature situated out the front. The staff were all really helpful and accommodating. It is a safe area to stay and you really can feel that in the city. Thomas at breakfast was great, he was friendly and made sure we were very well looked after.

“Beautiful stay”
The hotel is a stunningly beautiful art deco building. The location is excellent, a lovely area close to everything in the heart of Amsterdam. The staff were all very friendly. Had an amazing stay, will definitely be coming back to Hotel American!

“The staff make the Clayton American the best in Amsterdam”
The hotel was undergoing some renovations during our stay. It meant the room we had at the front of the hotel had restrictions on use of the balcony, also the room could do with additional noise abatement. The hotel was undergoing some renovations during our stay. It meant the room we had at the front of the hotel had restrictions on use of the balcony, also the room could do with additional noise abatement. That said the staff were wonderful, friendly and so helpful. Special mention to Francesca , karalijn and their colleague in training at front desk. They made our stay and are an absolute credit to the hotel. We moved room to one on the canal and it was perfect. The breakfast is really worth having and sets you up for a long day exploring. Location is perfect for all the main attractions and the bar American is a wonderful spot for a drink. When the main lobby reopens and the scaffolding goes, this will be my go to place in Amsterdam. The staff make all the difference
