With a rental car the Parador was easy to reach using a navigation system. It has an on-site parking garage for 22€ per night. It seemed a little steep, but was convenient since there are no free parking lots near the Parador. The Parador is in a good location being about a 10 minutes walk from an aqueduct and Roman bridge, as well as the Alcazaba and temple of Diana. The theater and amphitheater are an additional 10 minutes walk. The Roman Circus and another aqueduct are about 15 minutes away. The reception is a short walk from the elevator and the parking garage. Check in was quick after which we walked back to the elevator to get to our room. The room was fairly standard for a Parador. It wasn’t as rustic as some Paradors nor as modern as others. There was a small window overlooking some roofs, but no great views. There were a number of places with sofas and chairs in and off the hallways to sit and chat. The Internet did occasionally drop out. The staff couldn’t have been any nicer. The breakfast staff worked especially hard seating people, cleaning table, taking and delivering orders, and keeping the buffet fully stocked.

“Silver Route Road Trip”

Excellent location in an iconic setting.First class food sourced locally. Extremely comfortable beds for a great nights sleep. Excellent service from friendly staff.

“Great location, beautiful building”

Parador is in a beautiful and historic building. Unfortunately breakfast wasn’t great , poor food choices, fruit and bread looked old , better to eat out . I would happily stay again , but give breakfast here a miss.

Gorgeous old building in the heart of the town but still relatively quiet. We were part of a group, staying for 3 nights, so the hotel was chosen for us but they chose well. Gorgeous old building in the heart of the town but still relatively quiet. We were part of a group, staying for 3 nights, so the hotel was chosen for us but they chose well. Lovely big rooms and bathrooms but there was often a drain smell which was totally random and didn't last long. We didn't complain as it was in the town itself at times so it's hard to blame the hotel. The bedroom walls were like paper. We couldn't get the safe to work. Again we didn't complain but I overheard someone else saying they had the same problem. Reception staff spoke some English although the restaurant staff mostly didn't but that's quite common for the area and wasn't an issue for us at all. It's a big building and even staying 3 nights we still got lost at times! It's a very confusing layout!! The common areas were very welcoming especially the little internal open courtyard, which was a very calming place to sit with a drink. We had a couple of group set meals which we thought were very nice (one better than the other) but others in the group didn't agree.
