Very charming hotel in the beautiful region of La Vera. This place is perfect to relax yourself within the nature of the national park of Monfrague, visiting high impact historical places as Monasterio de Yuste, Plasencia and Trujillo as well as enjoy the wonderful gardens and swimming pool from the hotel. Congratulation to Maria Jose and David, they are just great, also good traditional gastronomy not only in the hotel but in the region of La Vera.

This place was immaculate, beautifully designed and cared for. It felt like the owners had really put thier hearts into it. The food was gourmet quality, we chose to have dinner as well as the breakfast there. Everything was very fresh. Our vegetarian meals were specially cooked for us. The setting is beautiful and grew on me the longer I was there. Beautiful walks in the countryside outside their gate. A very refreshing swimming pool. The owners were very sweet and gracious and made us feel very welcome and at home. It was also extremely good value for the quality. This has been my favouite place in Spain so far! One warning was the wifi was pretty slow and/or intermittent - do anything you really need to online before going - then blissfully forget about your devices for a while.

The title should have mentioned the charming owners, who go out of their way to make your stay a success. The house is about 5km down a small lane from the town of Cuacos de Yuste, though if you're coming from the south east it is accessible if you're a good map reader and have a look at Google Earth before setting out, via the small village of Collado, which saves quite a few kilometers. We stayed in a Junior Suite, a large room with wonderful views across the garden to the distant mountains. Being an old house, the room was cool despite the outside heat and we did not use the air conditioning. The house has old style charm, with plenty of bric à brac around and a nice informal atmosphere, making one feel more like a visitor to rich friends than guests in a hotel. Breakfast was very good, far better than in most country hotels in Spain. We had dinner both nights. The chef is creative but not pretentious, so the food was interesting, tasty and sufficient in quantity. Dining outside as night slowly falls and the stars start to twinkle was the perfect end to a perfect day. The local red wine, Habla del Silencio (from memory, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon) was nicely rounded and made the stars shine even brighter! The hotel told us how to get to an old "roman road" as it is called locally (genuine or not, I cannot tell, but it looked authentic). The roman road was off a slightly bumpy but quite adequate track and wound down to an old bridge over a mountain stream, with trout, surrounded by woods. We went there on two days for picnics in the shade and only saw five other people in total, one of whom was a shepherd with a large herd of goats. So, if you live in a city or town and you're looking for a real out of the way escape from stress and noise, this is the place. We will definitely be returning!

“Relax and enjoy”

More than expected... congratulations to David and Mª José... it was an unbelievable stay. The house was cool, nicely decorated in an outstanding enviroment. If you just want to enjoy the wildlife, being in contact with the nature, taste the gastronomy... this is de place, no doubt about it. My wif… lisää

More than expected... congratulations to David and Mª José... it was an unbelievable stay. The house was cool, nicely decorated in an outstanding enviroment. If you just want to enjoy the wildlife, being in contact with the nature, taste the gastronomy... this is de place, no doubt about it. My wife and I stayed there for 3 days. A hughe bedroom with all facilities and amenities, very comfortable. We enjoyed a lot seeing the time going by while enjoying the swimming pool... no words to explain it. Breakfast and dinner, one of the best I've ever tasted. It's a very good headquarter to visit every place nearby: Cuacos, Jarandilla, Losar... Once again, thank you and please, try it. It worths it.
