“Great value for money during the World Cup”
Reasonably basic hotel but we were really pleased that the hotel still charged their normal room rates even during the World Cup and didn't take advantage of their guests. Reasonably basic hotel but we were really pleased that the hotel still charged their normal room rates even during the World Cup and didn't take advantage of their guests. We paid approx. £30 for a double room with a shower, air-conditioning and breakfast. It was great value for that when others were charging considerably more. The hotel itself was fine as long as you don't expect luxury. The check in was friendly although no English spoken but sensible use made of "google translate" on the hotel pc. Room was tight and air-conditioning unit wasn't terribly effective. En-suite shower room was fine but just cold water. We were only in the room for about 6 hours and it was fine for that length of time. Breakfast was fairly basic, breads and fruit. The hotel does have excellent locker facilities to leave large suitcases when going on Amazon tours. Neighbourhood is inner city Manaus. Five minute walk to the main harbour area and fruit and veg market - good for some early morning photos. Friendly local corner bar in street near hotel as well. Not sure if that would be the same when the World Cup isn't in town though.
